Get A Look Inside George Harrison's "Material World" at the Grammy Museum

Currently running at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, CA, Beatles fans can get a closer look at the life and career of deceased band member, George Harrison.

DOYLESTOWN, PA, November 25, 2011

George Harrison, one of the most influential musicians of all time, and a member of The Beatles may have been taken from us too soon, but for fans of the music, as well as the man, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, CA is currently hosting a limited exhibit that showcases the life and memory of the man, entitled "George Harrison: Living in the Material World."

The exhibit, currently running until March 25th of 2012, showcases items from throughout the artist's life and beyond, including screenings of Martin Scorsese's recent documentary, which shares its name with the exhibit. Visitors can also enjoy interactive listening stations where they can hear, and also play with a mix of all eight tracks of his 1973 hit, "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)," where they can isolate each of the instruments, as well as the vocals, for a more intimate listening experience.

Also included, are his personal notebooks, some of which he had, and kept from early in life, as well as hand-written song lyrics to songs such as "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Living in the Material World."

Visitors can also view a number of outfits and clothing items worn throughout Harrison's career, including the cream-colored Nudie Cohn suit he wore during The Concert for Bangladesh. Olivia Harrison, George's widow, has also lent some of his personal instruments for the exhibit, letting fans get a closer look at some of the guitars and other items that have not been shared in the past.

"The guitars are beautiful, and I know they should be seen and shared. George always said that instruments should be played. When he came across somebody who had collected a thousand instruments, he thought it was wrong that they were kept locked away in a warehouse somewhere," she noted during the opening ceremony.
