The Tile Doctor Launches Shield, Its Non-Toxic Antimicrobial Solution At The Atlanta Home Show

HGTV Personality Jodi Marks Gives Hometown Crowd First Look At New Product

ATLANTA, GA, September 23, 2010

The Tile Doctor, the most recognized and respected brand in the tile and stone industry, today announced local availability of its Shield product line. On display for the first time at the Atlanta Home Show, Shield is a non-toxic antimicrobial which means it controls the growth of microorganisms without the use of chemical toxins and can be used on most hard surfaces in the home.

Common household organisms such as mold and mildew are becoming an increased concerned for our indoor air quality. According to the National Safety Council, the air inside our homes can be up to 10 times worse for consumers than the air outside. Compounding the issue, the book "Prosperity Without Pollution", reported that the average American household uses 25 gallons of harmful, toxic products per year, a major portion of that coming from cleaning products.

"Pollutants such as bacteria and mold combined with harsh chemicals from household cleaners create a toxic environment inside the home," said Curt Rapp, founder and CEO of The Tile Doctor. "On the personal and professional level, it was extremely important for us to create a safe and sustainable solution that rids households from unhealthy microbes without using harmful chemicals. At The Tile Doctor, we're committed to providing continuous innovation and environmentally-friendly products, and the Shield line is exactly that."

Once applied, Shield creates an environment where bacteria, mold, fungi, mildew and algae can't thrive, allowing treated surfaces such as the shower and floors to be regularly cleaned with as little as soap and water. Shield aides homes in the elimination of such microorganisms and reducing the need for common harmful household cleaners such as bleach-based products. The product, Shield, creates the new definition of clean.

The Tile Doctor will be at the Atlanta Home Show Sept. 24 thru Sept. 26 in the Traditions in Tile booth, number #442. Visitors will have the opportunity to see live demos of the product, speak to company representatives and purchase Shield products. Traditions in Tile will be handing out coupons offering special discounts for Shield. Company spokesperson and HGTV personality, Jodi Marks, will also be on-site promoting the product, signing autographs and meeting with fans.

After the show, consumers can purchase Shield products at local Traditions in Tile and Floor and Decor stores. Shield will launch nationally in Q4. For additional information, please visit http://www.thetiledoctor.com or http://www.facebook.com/TDShield.
