The standard 6-speed automatic transmission has a towhaul mode that drivers can use when they are using the trailer to optimize the F-150's performance. The 2012 Ford F-150 also has a best-in-class payload capability of 3,050 lbs. This truck has the largest cargo box in its class, providing 81.3 cubic feet of space.
