CHICAGO, IL, September 23, 2010 (Press-News.org) Tricoci University of Beauty Culture (TUBC) recently launched a Facebook contest that will award three $2,000 scholarships to potential cosmetology students.
The 'I Am Tricoci' contest, which ends at 12:00 PM EDT on November 1, 2010, requires student hopefuls to visit one of three TUBC campuses (Peoria, 602 W. Glen Ave.; Glendale Heights, 530 North Ave.; or Libertyville, 751 East Park Ave.). At each location, the contestant will be able to wear a Tricoci University smock and pose as if he or she were already a Tricoci University student cutting hair. When contestants visit a campus and take a photo, they will each earn a free service card for one free beauty service. Then, contestants will be instructed to post their 'I Am Tricoci' picture on the TUBC Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/tricociuniversity). The contestant from each campus with the photo that receives the most votes will win a $2,000 scholarship that can be used to attend that specific campus.
"This contest gives would-be Tricoci University students a head start in attending our innovative cosmetology program in our state-of-the-art campuses," said Brian Weed, CEO of Tricoci University of Beauty Culture.
The concept is designed to encourage Tricoci University's Facebook fans who are prospective students to assume the role of a Tricoci University student and to upload a photo for their campaign. Future Tricoci University students will then share their posts with their Facebook friends with the goal of receiving the most 'like' votes.
"Our cosmetology students must have a passion for the beauty industry," said Mario Tricoci, Founder of TUBC. "We are excited to see that passion translate into heavy online campaigning on the part of aspiring Tricoci University students."
This scholarship contest is yet another example of how Tricoci University has embraced its fans in the social media community. Previously, TUBC launched a 'You Want It, Go Get It' Facebook contest that awarded one esthetician hopeful a $5,000 scholarship to attend school at a TUBC campus. Tricoci University recently awarded one local high school student a prom makeover through the 'Big Primpin' Facebook contest that asked students to describe the career path they intend to follow after graduation.
Tricoci University of Beauty Culture, founded in 2004 by beauty industry luminary Mario Tricoci, has redefined the industry to produce salon-ready graduates on the fast track to career success. Using a proprietary curriculum designed to hone the next generation, Tricoci University graduates have a 95-percent state license pass rate and are in great demand from salons and spas worldwide.
