DENVER, CO, February 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) In an effort to further increase patient access to health information and local hospitals, HealthONE announced today the release of its HealthONE Fast LocatER expanded smartphone application to Android, iPhone and iPad platforms. The HealthONE Fast LocatER app will provide emergency room wait times directly to your smart phone or iPad, as well as locate the nearest HealthONE ER where-ever you live, work or play. The app also enables you to find a physician, schedule an appointment, call 911 and more.
This release includes upgrades to the HealthONE Fast LocatER iPhone version that was released in May 2010. The upgrades include a more advanced user experience, a smoother platform and more locations for HCA facilities in the U.S.
"Technology in healthcare is revolutionizing the way we diagnose, interact and treat patients, and the way patients are accessing care," said Dr. George Bussey, Chief Medical Officer, HCA-HealthONE. "We're constantly listening to what our patients say they need to best manage their health and obtain care. That is why we are pleased to provide our patients with the resources they need to make informed decisions about how and where they will seek medical care."
In addition to the HealthONE Fast LocatER app, ER wait times can be obtained from visiting a HealthONE hospital's website, texting "ER" to 720-523-3888, or calling 720-523-3888 for automated wait time updates.
People experiencing major medical emergencies including life-, limb- or sight-threatening injuries, severe illness, heart attack or stroke symptoms should call 911 immediately. If your emergency isn't life-threatening, HealthONE's Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children's First Call, a pediatric nurse triage line (303-563-3300), is a free service to assist patients in accessing the right care at the right time. Parents can call with emergency questions about their children when their doctors' office is closed.
