Southern Cross Care Provides Aged Care Services In Western Australia Featured In February's Business Review Australia

SAN DIEGO, CA, February 29, 2012

What started as a small retirement village in Perth in the mid-1960s has blossomed into Australia's third largest network of aged care service providers, known as a loose federation called Southern Cross Care (Australia). Southern Cross Care (Australia) holds presence in every state and territory, but each branch operates independently.

Until 2000, most care services were offered on-site at the various facilities across WA, but for more than a decade, the fastest-growing sector of the organisation has been providing community-based care to older people who wish to continue living at home. Now, "two-thirds of the people we serve are in their own homes," says Stuart Flynn, CEO of SCC for nearly 14 years.

SCC currently provides services to 3,000 people through its retirement villages, on-site facilities, and at-home care options, as well as affordable housing throughout the state.
