Portable Guardrail System from Capital Safety Offers Passive Fall Protection Solution

Portable system eliminates fall hazards

2010-08-18
RED WING, MN, August 18, 2010 (Press-News.org) Capital Safety, home of the DBI-SALA and PROTECTA brands of fall protection equipment, announces enhancements to its Portable Guardrail System, an economic passive fall protection system.

The Portable Guardrail System offers a practical fall protection solution that is designed to prevent personnel from reaching a fall hazard. The freestanding system can be erected in minutes, requires no permanent or penetrating surface attachments, and seals off areas and edges that are unprotected, offering an ideal passive fall protection solution.

The guardrails are offered in six-foot, eight-foot and ten-foot sections to fit a site's specific needs. The new and unique lightweight bases incorporate ergonomic handles, four rail receptacles and built-in toe-board brackets that allow infinite configurations with no additional components required. In addition, a rubber pad on the bottom of each base provides skid resistance and surface protection, while splice kit, roof hatch and swing gate accessories provide added versatility.

"Fall hazards should be eliminated whenever possible," says Mike Brandt, product manager with Capital Safety. "This system acts as a barrier that prevents personnel from falling to lower levels. It protects the greatest number of employees with little or no training, no special maintenance and no special gear."

Installation of the Portable Guardrail System is quick and easy with no special tools required. Simply position the bases, insert the guardrail sections into the bases and tighten the set screws to secure in place. The Portable Guardrail System can be used to protect roof perimeters, wall openings, floor hatchways and chutes, leading edges, skylights, truck and rail docks, wells, pits, shafts, manholes and more.

Capital Safety, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of height safety and fall protection equipment with 12 operating sites worldwide, is home of the DBI-SALA and PROTECTA brands. All of Capital Safety's fall protection and rescue systems are backed by extensive training, knowledgeable technical assistance and professional customer service.
