JoGo Equipment Teams with Kaboom to Build Playgrounds for Kids

Award winning recreation company joins with non-profit to help share knowledge, tools and expertise to help fight child obesity in the United States. There is a definite need for playgrounds to be built in America to save our children.

2012-03-22
VALLEJO, CA, March 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) "Too many kids are missing out on one of the most important childhood experiences that help kids grow up healthy, happy and successful. There is a nationwide scarcity of play and we are beginning to see a stark difference between children who play and children who don't ", says Kaboom (kaboom.org). JoGo Equipment and Kaboom will be building playgrounds across the United States in an effort to bring children and families together so they have a safe place to play, learn and spend time together. "Child obesity in America is something that we can control. If we share knowledge, time and effort it takes to change our culture, will be able to fight this challenge one playground at a time", says Alex Diamond, Co-founder / COO of JoGo Equipment (jogoequipment.com)

The Play Deficit is an important problem, and it is imperative that we solve it to ensure our children have long, healthy, and happy lives.

The decline of play is closely linked to:

- Childhood obesity
- Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity, anxiety disorders and depression
- Violence and other behavioral problems
- Stunted social, cognitive, and creative development
- Lack of green spaces in cities and suburbs
- Failing schools

The mission is to create great play-spaces through the participation and leadership of communities. Ultimately, we envision a place to play within walking distance of every child in America.

To date, Kaboom has built over 2,000 playgrounds, saving play for over 5.5 million children.

JoGo Equipment supplies a wide range of playground and recreational products to schools, churches, parks, childcare and sports facilities in the U.S. They have certified installation companies based in all 50 States to provide local volunteers and supervision to projects that need a wide array of products or services.
