"Behind the Music: T-Pain" will highlight the rise of "Faheem Najm" known to the world as T-Pain. This talented young man has been interested in music from a very early age. Spending numerous hours in his makeshift home "bedroom" studio he produced his own music and his love and desire to excel in the music business led to T-Pain dropping out of school as early as the 8th grade to pursue a dream that would down the line come to fruition on a large scale. All he needed was a "BIG BREAK". Due to the lack of opportunities in Tallahassee T-Pain saw the need to move away and explore what a bigger city had to offer, especially after the success he found with the local group called Nappy Headz. T-Pain landed a spot with Akon's label Konvict Records after moving away specifically because of becoming frustrated with his declining relationship with his dad. This opportunity eventually led to T-Pain creating a national name for himself through the use of his signature sound created through auto tune. T-Pain never imagined this signature sound would lead to him becoming one of the most sought after producers leading to bigger opportunities for him to work with the likes of Britney Spears, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. T-Pain has been to date featured on over 45 top ten songs and 16 #1′s. In this special you will see those very close to T-Pain who's love and support led to him becoming who he is today.
