LateRooms.com - Paris Gabriel Orozco Show 'a Unique Opportunity'

A collection of pieces by Gabriel Orozco is on show in Paris currently.

2010-09-28
PARIS, FRANCE, September 28, 2010 (Press-News.org) Tourists staying at Paris hotels have been advised that the Gabriel Orozco exhibition currently showing at the Centre Pompidou offers people a rare chance to see the artist's work.

The venue has confirmed the collection will be available to view until January 3rd 2011 at the prestigious arts space.

Fans of his work will know that Orozco has something of a mysterious persona, moving from studio to studio in the 1990s so as not to be identified by the region he stayed in.

The Centre Pompidou described him as one of the most important artists of his generation during that decade and his work still holds plenty of allure.

"This exhibition is a unique opportunity to discover an exceptional collection of his drawings, photographs, sculptures and paintings, most of which have never been shown in France," a spokesperson from the venue remarked.

Visitors may find they can see recurring themes of the human body and urban landscape, with Orozco seemingly fascinated by the "poetry of randomness".

Opening hours for this display - which can be found in the Galerie Sud - are from 11:00 to 21:00 local time, with tickets costing EUR12 (GBP10.20).

There is plenty more to see in the building in terms of art, including a retrospective of the work of Arman.

For more information on this event visit the Centre Pompidou website or contact the venue on +39 081 3031395.
