Once the visitor clicked on the link, a message popped up that said "April Fools, you silly smarty pants! Happy late April Fools! Don't you fret because the butler is still single and ready to mingle, so all of you single Smarties still have a shot at winning his affection!"

The invitation included a $10 coupon "as compensation for the immense heartbreak you may have felt upon hearing about Charles's engagement."
