IRVINE, CA, April 05, 2012
The news is in from urban, suburban and rural districts alike: America wants more young farmers and more young farmers want a piece of America. We know it will take work and time to change the way we view our urban areas, figure out how to care for our ecosystems and serve our country healthy food in the years to come. The Greenhorns film champions the critical meeting between minds, bodies, and land by opening up a dialogue and helping conscious urban dwellers to navigate their paths, build skills, and connect with each other.Join us for an afternoon of film and food for thought. The 50 minute film will be followed by a brief talk by Eugene Cooke and Q & A. Eugene has assisted in developing gardens and mini-farms all over the U.S., Jamaica, Tanzania and Kenya. He has been teaching visual art, environmental and agricultural science to children and adults for over 10 years. He is the author of Grow Where You Are!: An Introduction to the Art of Urban Gardening. Come see why Eugene's talks are garnering support all over the country and abroad.
