CHICAGO, IL, April 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) Come one, come all. Come anyone who can get down for a good cause. The Trio Animal Foundation (TAF) is hosting its second annual Rockin' for Rescue event at the historic Double Door rock club on May 19th. The event will feature live music by Dr. Bombay, one of Chicago's top party bands, and the tween all-girl rock group Purple Apple, currently recording a new EP.
Founded on the mission of assisting shelters, rescue organizations and individuals, TAF is a charitable organization that works to improve the lives of homeless pets by facilitating and paying for quality medical care. "The Rockin' for Rescue event is Trio Animal Foundation's largest annual fundraiser. The funds we raise allow us to continue helping open access facilities, reduce euthanasia rates and increase transfers into adoption programs," comments Sue Naiden, TAF President and Founder. "We are a small but mighty nonprofit making a huge impact and saving lives every day." Naiden founded TAF after rescuing her three-legged pitbull terrier, Trio (TAF's namesake) and seeing the overwhelming medical bills animal welfare organizations often face when giving pets a second chance. Since 2009, TAF has worked with more than 35 shelters and rescues in the Chicagoland area and across the US, paying for close to 1,000 animals' medical care.
The Rockin' for Rescue event will include an open bar and gourmet food by All on the Road Catering and local celebrity chef, Doug Sohn of Hot Doug's. Exciting raffle items will be available at the event, as well as a limited number of "doggie" bags for attendees to take home and enjoy with their furry loved ones. Those who sign up for the rockstar "VIP" experience will enjoy access to an exclusive VIP Green Room Lounge, top shelf cocktails as well as beer and wine, enhanced menu items, fashionable TAF concert tees and more. Emceeing the night's festivities is Alpana Singh, host of the popular Emmy Award winning TV show Check, Please! and proud parent to a pug named Haruki. Mark your calendars to take part in this exciting event and important cause.
