With 20 years of global energy financial services experience, Simon will be responsible for advancing the company's growth strategy for its energy business line. He will be based in Geneva and will report to Maria Dupont, Managing Director, Energy and Metals Products.
Simon, 42, joins GMEX from Energeco Trade, a leading over-the-counter energy broker, where he was responsible for the oversight and development of the company's futures and clearing operations, data business and regulatory affairs. He also held leadership roles at EG Source, Leroy Corporation and Gaffner Futures.
Simon has served in Energy and Environmental Market Advisory Committee and the Committee of Chief Risk Officers. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Energy Management Institute at Boller School of Business. Simon earned a master's degree in economics from the University of Lausanne.
