BURLINGTON, NC, May 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) R. "Gray" Kirkpatrick, vice president of Triangle Grading And Paving, Inc. (http://www.trianglegradingpaving.com), has announced that the company recently received a $2.3 million contract from the Piedmont Triad International Airport to clear almost 60 acres of land, which will soon become home to a new Honda Aircraft Company facility. The Honda Aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility will cover approximately 80,000 square feet and is part of Honda's $80 million expansion, including the addition of 419 high-paying jobs that will become available over the next five years.
Triangle previously has completed two separate projects for Honda Aircraft Company - one at its original Airport Executive Office complex in Greensboro, N.C., and another at its engine manufacturing facility in Burlington. The two project contracts totaled almost $4 million. Honda Aircraft Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Honda Motors Inc., was founded in 2006. The company is headquartered in Greensboro and operates more than 500,000 square feet of facility space for developing, producing, marketing and supporting the Honda Jet with Honda Jet dealers.
Located at the center of North Carolina and the midpoint of the East Coast, Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) services the Piedmont Triad region, situated between the cities of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point where I-40, I-85 and the future I-73 and I-74 converge. More than 4.5 million people live within a 90-minute drive of PTIA. The airport is part of a 4,000-acre campus, home to more than 50 companies that infuse an estimated $1 billion into the local community annually.
QUOTES:
"Triangle Grading and Paving is honored to have the opportunity to work with the Piedmont Triad International Airport in order to ensure that Honda Aircraft's expansion of its facility is successful," said Kirkpatrick. "We are committed to providing superior construction services to Honda throughout its upcoming development period and anticipate successful results."
