OLD LYME, CT, September 29, 2010 (Press-News.org) Deep River Snacks, a gourmet snack food company will provide funds and refreshments to The "Big Buzz" Chainsaw Carving Festival, produced by artist Barre Pinske. The festival will take place September 27th through October 3rd, on Route 103 South in Chester VT. On the last day, Sunday, October 3rd, a collective 8ft bear carving, made by over 20 professional chainsaw artists, will be auctioned off and all proceeds will directly benefit one of Deep River Snacks cancer charity partners.
The event is being sponsored by Deep River Snacks. Lee Whiting, a Chester VT resident, is the National Sales Manager for Deep River Snacks and a Cancer Survivor. "We are proud to continue to support community events for a charitable cause," Says President of Deep River Snacks, Jim Goldberg. "This festival is a unique way to raise funds for cancer research."
There will be other expertly carved wood pieces for auction at the end of the week as well as the 8ft bear. Carvers are welcome to bring their own personal creations to sell. Proceeds from this with benefit the carvers and the event. Admission will be by donation on September 27- 29, 2010. Admission September 30 - October 3rd will be $5 per person or $10 for a family with week passes available for $8 and $13.
