Aztec Municipal School District: Educating Tomorrow's Leaders, in Education Digital

Aztec's commitment to best practices, quality teaching and elite activities shape tomorrow's brightest leaders

2012-05-23
SAN DIEGO, CA, May 23, 2012 (Press-News.org) In a report in Education Digital, District Superintendent Kirk Carpenter explains how Aztec Municipal School District's insightful approach to comprehensive education has been enhancing the lives of students for over a century. Through their new dedication to professional learning communities, their increased advancement in inspirational activities, and committed involvement of superior staff, the district will undoubtedly continue to educate promising leaders of the future for years to come.

At Aztec Municipal School District, students are not just taught academic knowledge to help them succeed; they are immersed in a community that shapes them into powerful and self-reliant leaders. Located amidst the epic scenery of New Mexico's San Juan River Basin, in the northwest corner of the state, the Aztec District sets the standard on immersive education through their diverse range of enriching activities, cutting-edge practices and dedicated staff.

Serving over 3,000 students at three elementary schools, one middle school and two high schools, the Aztec district draws on the unique charm of their small town community in crafting the values of their curriculum.

District superintendent Kirk Carpenter describes Aztec's community scene, "Aztec is a small caring town. On homecoming, the city closes down Main Street for the festivities. Everyone takes off work, shuts their doors and comes to the parade. In Aztec, we value connecting to the community," he says.
