LONDON, ENGLAND, May 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) The London 2012 Festival will see more than 12,000 events and performances take place in the capital and other cities around the UK this summer.

Kicking off on June 21st and running until early September, the festival will allow people to celebrate the arrival of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games with some of the biggest names in music, art, comedy and theatre.

Damon Albarn, Stephen Fry, Tracey Emin, Jay-Z, Tim Minchin and Julie Walters are just some of the stars due to take part in the London 2012 Festival, which will feature artists from all 204 participating Olympic nations.

In total, the line-up of events is set to encompass more than 25,000 artists, 900 venues and 130 world premieres.

Anticipated highlights of the festival programme include BT River of Music - a series of concerts in six special Thames-side locations that will feature Scissor Sisters, The Noisettes and Matthew Herbert.

More than 160,000 free tickets will be made available for these events in July, with registration due to open on Tuesday May 15th.

A recent report finds that this might be changing, however. According to a new study, reported by Reuters, more women are paying child support and alimony to their ex-husbands than ever before. ...
