Tokyo-based Sweet Soul Records Announces Latest Compilation Album Release, "World Soul Collective Vol.1"

World Soul Collective Vol.1 features talented independent soul artists from around the world. Sweet Soul Records has selected their most promising independent international artists and created a next-generation world soul compilation album.

2012-06-29
TOKYO, JAPAN, June 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) Today, SWEET SOUL RECORDS announced the official release of their latest compilation album, "World Soul Collective Vol.1. With this latest release, Sweet Soul Records again demonstrates their commitment to bringing soul music listeners good, quality music from all over the world.

"Since the release of our "Soul Over The Race" series, which have gone on to achieve both domestic and international popularity, we have been fortunate enough to garner attention from some very talented independent artists from numerous different countries. By having the opportunity to release top international soul artists here in Japan, we have been able to carefully select and compile some of the best independent soul music on offer and include that music on "World Soul Collective Vol.1." This compilation covers a range of musical styles like soul, neo-soul, jazzy soul, R&B, and funk, with the pre-release response being overwhelmingly positive." says Michael Harris, Senior Manager at Sweet Soul Records.

Also included on the release is the track "Make the Change," the first original music recorded by Sweet Soul Records and sung by Nao Yoshioka, a very talented soul singer who placed second at the Apollo Amateur Night competition in May 2011. Nao will join a number of talented independent soul artists from the US, Mexico, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand on "World Soul Collective Vol.1."

Sweet Soul Records believes that soul music is not regulated to one group of people or race, so by utilizing their concept of "soul over the race," they have set out to unite soul music artists and listeners from all regions of the world. Sweet Soul Records' goal is to create a soulful world where talent is recognized and awarded across all borders and it begins with spreading real music.

"World Soul Collective Vol.1" is slated for both domestic and international distribution. Japan distribution will be in partnership with the highly-respected BBQ Records, long-time players in the global music industry, and available in stores from June 27, 2012. The compilation will be available on iTunes internationally on July 27, 2012.

SWEET SOUL RECORDS, parent company lifesound, Inc., is based in Tokyo and our main goal is to promote soul music in Japan in all its forms. We are doing this by creating our own brand of soul music, and at the same time, promoting international artists who we feel can help increase the number of loyal Japanese followers by spreading "real music."
