Over 2,500 Updates in the New Version 8 Software release for the MS5950 and MS5650 Universal Motorcycle Scan Tools

Now Available from Griffin Tools & Supply, LLC, Carpentersville, Illinois. Version 8 Software for the MS5950 and MS5650 Universal Motorcycle Scanners that works the most popular motorcycles, ATVs and scooters brands on the market today.

2012-06-29
CAPENTERSVILLE, IL, June 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) As power-sport technology progresses so must the tools used to repair them. A new software release; Version 8, is now available for the most comprehensive diagnostic tool on the market today.

Motorcycles have become more and more sophisticated with a number of computer-controlled systems on board. These motorcycles have electronic diagnostic capabilities when they need servicing and repair. This Motorcycle Diagnostic Scan Tool covers virtually all electronically diagnosable systems on motorcycles from most of the major manufacturers.

This Motorcycle Scan Tool is capable of diagnosing faults on motorcycles from brands such as Harley-Davidson , Yamaha , Honda , Kawasaki , BMW , Ducati , and Suzuki . Capabilities include: use the data from the motorcycle ECU to read (and erase) stored faults, and display "live" data (RPM, battery voltage, throttle angle, etc.)

It allows the technician to perform factory service procedures such as re-setting the service light, encoding keys, unlocking the immobilizer and configuring the immobilizer/alarm, making injection adjustments (CO Trimmer), adjusting the throttle valve position sensor (TPS), re-setting auto adaptive parameters, and making idle adjustments. The tool shows live data; it displays ECU data, reads stored faults (history) or live data (RPM, battery voltage, throttle angle). It is easy to update the tool annually via "Smart Card" technology.

It is an easy-to-use tool with a simple menu-driven interface. The tool provides systematic instructions for some diagnostic procedures. It is a bi-directional tool, capable of making many adjustments on motorcycles, ATVs & scooters.

The new Version 8 software release includes over 2,500 updates, adding hundreds of new vehicle models to an already impressive list, many brands updated to include 2011 and 2012 vehicles.

Here are a few of the new functions included:
ABS for Harley Davidson, read/clear trouble codes and perform brake bleed function.

Handlebar Controls for Harley Davidson, diagnose faults on handlebar controls.

New Data Logger for most manufacturers, track and record live data with the engine running or during a test ride; save screens for record keeping and analysis.

DTC Global Search for BMW, BRP/Can-Am, Harley Davidson, KTM, Polaris and Suzuki, read and display all diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) of all ECUs in a motorcycle at the same time. Perform a quick check of all fault codes, regardless of system. This feature also allows the technician to enter a DTC into the database and be told what that DTC means!

RDC system for BMW and Kawasaki, view ECU data, various parameters, and read/clear codes with the ECU for tire control systems. Motorcycles that display tire pressure (front and rear) in the driver instrument panel have RDC on board.

The NEW MS5950 is the next generation of motorcycle scan tools and features a large touch screen display, built-in data router and faster speeds than the MS5650 unit without sacrificing any functions.
