Pie Consulting & Engineering (Pie) announced today that the company has accomplished a total of 210 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building projects nationwide.

2012-06-30
ARVADA, CO, June 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) Pie Consulting & Engineering (Pie) announced today that the company has accomplished a total of 210 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building projects nationwide including:

175 LEED Silver

29 LEED Gold

6 LEED Platinum

In the LEED rating system, points are accrued using a 100-point scale, with points being weighted to reflect their potential environmental impacts. A building must accumulate a pre-determined number of points to achieve LEED certification status. More points garner a higher rating, up to the LEED Platinum level.

Pie is recognized as a leader in building enclosure commissioning (BECx) with specialized expertise in high-performance building enclosures. BECx services are often directly translated into achieving LEED project targets. Pie currently has several LEED Accredited Professionals on staff.

"Today's sustainable-savvy construction industry is constantly looking for ways to build even greater high-performance buildings using cutting-edge technologies and practices. Our specialty in providing building enclosure commissioning has become increasingly important within the LEED rating system construct." - Matt Heron, P.E., LEED AP, Pie Building Science Department Manager.
