LITTLE ROCK, AR, July 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) Lee Enterprises Alternative Fuels Consulting is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Gerald Kutney as its expert in forestry bioenergy and bio products, and emerging technologies. Kutney has a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Toronto, and more than 15 years of executive management experience with global corporations and entrepreneurial enterprises in the development of technology, commercialization, biomass economics and procurement in bio refining, bio energy, and bio products. He is a founding member of the Canadian Biochar Initiative and an Adjunct Professor and Instructor in the Environmental Science Program at the University of Northern British Columbia. Kutney began his career in the pulp and paper industry and later led the bio refining business of a major forest products company, which included the largest cellulosic ethanol business in North America, a biomass-to-energy CHP facility and an international bio products business. He subsequently led a new technology company in the commercialization of a novel bioenergy technology. Kutney currently serves as Managing Director of Sixth Element Sustainable Management.

The Metro Health Community Clinic food pantry has received a $50,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation State Giving Program - its first ever from the retailer.
The grant application originally requested a $25,000 grant, which the clinic anticipated would allow them to provide assistance to 708 children and 390 adults. However the Walmart Foundation has allocated $50,000 to enhance the clinic's food assistance program and allow it to reach even more people.
