LateRooms.com - Edinburgh Art Festival to Feature 45 Exhibitions

More than 45 art exhibitions can be viewed at the Edinburgh Art Festival this August.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, July 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) People heading to Edinburgh this summer will be able to enjoy the many exhibitions of the Edinburgh Art Festival, Scotland's largest annual visual art show.

Running from Thursday August 2nd to Sunday September 2nd, the festival will feature more than 45 exhibitions.

Leading galleries, museums and artist-run spaces across the city are to play host to the displays, the vast majority of which will be free to attend.

Those who sign up for the Edinburgh Art Festival's newsletter will be notified when booking for events opens.

Artists showing their work at the festival include the late Dieter Roth, who will be the subject of an exhibition at the Fruitmarket Gallery, and Hermann Nitsch, whose work will be on show at Summerhall.

Artwork by the likes of Tim Rollins, Donald Judd, Melvin Moti, Rachel Mayeri and Philip Guston will also be on show.

In addition, there will be solo retrospectives by Ian Hamilton Finlay, Leslie Hunter and John Bellany.

On top of the exhibitions, the festival will include artists' talks, workshops, family days and late night events, with Art Late returning on Thursday August 23rd.
