LateRooms.com - Enjoy Music and Art at Island Vibe Festival Near Brisbane

North Stradbroke Island off the coast of Brisbane is preparing for the annual Island Vibe Festival.

2010-10-02
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, October 02, 2010 (Press-News.org) A veritable who's who of Australian and international reggae, hip-hop, dancehall, roots and soul music will be playing at the Island Vibe Festival.

The event takes place between October 29th and 31st 2010 on North Stradbroke Island, which is just a short ferry ride away for people staying in the majority of hotels in Brisbane.

Among the artists confirmed as appearing at this year's festival is New Zealand's premier female MC Ladi6, otherwise known as Karoline Tamati, who is sure to wow the crowds with her energetic stage show and conscious lyrics.

Paula Fuga, who has collaborated with the likes of Jack Johnson and Ziggy Marley in the past, will be bringing her soulful voice - reminiscent of Erykah Badu and Jill Scott - to the event.

However, the organisers are keen to stress that music is not the only entertainment on offer at Island Vibe, with other attractions including art exhibitions, interactive workshops and even a circus.

Despite this packed bill, tickets for the full three days are available for just A$190, while day passes start at A$60 - although these prices are also subject to a booking fee.

In order to reach the site from the cheap hotels Brisbane has available, ticketholders can catch a vehicle taxi or water ferry from Cleveland on the mainland to Dunwich on the island.

A bus will then take people to the festival for A$5 for adults and A$2.50 for concessions.

For more information on this event, visit the Island Vibe Festival website.
