YWCA Gives Away Money For College

The YWCA North Central Indiana's Building Brighter Tomorrows Scholarship Drawing will provide college scholarships to those wanting to attend school. The Grand Prize for the Scholarship Drawing is a $50,000 scholarship or $25,000 instant cash.

SOUTH BEND, IN, July 18, 2012 (Press-News.org) South Bend, IN- Someone could win a $50,000 scholarship to the college of their choice. YWCA North Central Indiana today announced, with Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, the YWCA Building Brighter Tomorrows Scholarship Drawing.

"We all know how expensive college can be," said YWCA President & CEO Linda Baechle. "But we also know education can help improve lives and build brighter tomorrows and that's our hope for everyone in our community," added Baechle. Proceeds from the YWCA Building Brighter Tomorrows Scholarship Drawing will support the YWCA's programs for women and children including the economic empowerment program which provides victims of domestic violence the skills and tools they need to begin rebuilding their lives.

3 scholarships and additional prizes will be awarded in the Building Brighter Tomorrows Scholarship Drawing:

• Grand Prize of a $50,000 scholarship or $25,000 instant cash
• $10,000 scholarship or $5,000 instant cash
• $5,000 scholarship or $2,500 instant cash
• 5-- $1,000 US Savings Bonds


Tickets for the scholarship drawing can be purchased at the YWCA and at all Notre Dame Federal Credit Unions. "We are pleased to be a partner in this effort to help people go to college and support the work of the YWCA," said Notre Dame Federal Credit Union President Tom Gryp. "Between July 10th and September 3rd, 2012 you can walk into any of our 11 locations throughout South Bend, Mishawaka and Granger to purchase a chance to win," said Gryp.

You can also buy a ticket from anywhere in the United States by phone by calling the Scholarship hotline at 574-233-9491. The official drawing will take place September 6, 10:00 am at the YWCA North Central Indiana office at 1102 S. Fellows Street, South Bend, IN. The chances of winning a prize are 1 in 250 and only 2,000 tickets will be sold.
