Baterbys Art Auction Gallery will conduct a pair of summer auctions featuring over 300 of the top names in fine art, plus many exciting up-and-coming artists, Aug. 21 & 28 at two Florida galleries

Over 300 original and reproduction works of art by many highly recognizable names in the world of fine art, plus some exciting up-and-coming artists, will be sold at auctions slated for Aug. 21 and 28 by Baterbys Art Auction Gallery in Florida.

2010-08-19
ORLANDO, FL, August 19, 2010 (Press-News.org) Over 300 original and reproduction works of art by some of the most highly recognizable names in the world of fine art, plus many exciting up-and-coming artists, will be sold at auctions slated for Aug. 21 (at the Palm Beach Gallery in Delray Beach) and Aug. 28 (at the main gallery in Orlando) by Baterbys Art Auction Gallery (Baterbys.com).

Many of the artists are household names: Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Marc Chagall. Established contemporary artists will include Peter Max, LeRoy Neiman, Charles Fazzino and Nicola Simbari. The rising stars will include Hua Chen, Elena Bond, Tomasz Rut, Wayne Trapp, Alfred Gockel, Guillaume Azoulay and artists known simply as Pino and Ferjo.

"This will be a wonderful opportunity for collectors and art aficionados to purchase pieces by some of these lesser known but supremely talented artists, while the price is right and the market is favorable," said John Magpantay, Communications and Marketing Director of Baterbys Art Auction Gallery. "Some of the works will be original. Others will be limited edition giclees, some of which are hand-embellished."

There will be no buyer's premium in the auction. Bidding for some artworks will start at under $100, and some pieces will carry no reserves (minimums). A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit B.A.S.E. Camp, an Orlando-based not-for-profit charity that provides a year-round base of support for children and families living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Hua Chen was born in 1952 in Shanghai, China. He relocated to the U.S. in the early 1990s, where his work earned fast recognition. His paintings are depicted in the directory Artists of Chinese Origin in North America and his work is included in the permanent collection of the National Art Museum of China. He was named official artist of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Eight giclees hand-embellished by Mr. Chen will be sold by Baterbys.

Guillaume Azoulay was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1949. By age 13 he was already selling his drawings on the street and at fairs. His travels took him to Copenhagen, Rome, Lisbon and Jerusalem before he finally settled in California in 1976. At age 29, he became the youngest artist to ever be accepted into the permanent archives of the renowned Musee du Louvre in Paris.

Seven giclees on canvas and two etchings on paper by Mr. Azoulay will be offered.

At an early age, Tomasz Rut was introduced to Pompeian frescos and the many works of Renaissance and Baroque masters. His mother, herself an artist, encouraged her son to pursue the arts. While working and traveling, he was inspired to create modern art in the style of the masters he'd always admired. The result: a completely original yet classical style of art uniquely his own.

Just six of his works will be offered by Baterbys, all of them giclees on canvas.

Fernando de Jesus Oliveira (the artist better known as Ferjo) was born in Bahia, Brazil in 1946. His early work consisted mainly of cubist-style landscapes in the tradition of George Bruck and later realist portraiture. His technical virtuosity led him to explore various themes and styles and he produced an homage series in salute to Picasso, Van Gogh, Chagall and da Vinci.

Four of Ferjo's works will be sold by Baterbys, all giclees on canvas.

Giuseppe Dangelico (who preferred to go by the name Pino) was born in Bari, Italy in 1939. He studied at the Bari Art Institute and the Academy of Brera in Milan, where he perfected his talent for painting nudes, having been influenced by the pre-Raphaelites and Macchiaioli. This led to a remarkable 13-year run, during which he illustrated over 3,000 romance novels.

Ten giclees by Pino, who recently passed away, will be sold by Baterbys, most of them hand-embellished.

Alfred Alexander Gockel was born in Ludinghausen, Germany in 1952. Even as a child, he was fascinated by the magic of colors on paper. This enthusiasm resulted in the release of his first artistic creation by a German publisher at age eight. Gockel's art is composed with beautiful lighted colors, trimmed with powerful black figures and accents. His style is uniquely his own.

Baterbys will offer several artworks by Gockel: limited edition etchings, mixed media originals, limited edition giclees and original paintings.

Elena Bond was born in Samara, Russia in 1965 and began drawing at a very early age, using everything from a pencil to her mother's make-up. Since her father was in the military, she moved around a lot, living everywhere from Moscow to Germany. She enrolled in art school at age 11 in St. Petersburg, Russia and earned a degree from the State College of Art in Uzbekistan.

Six of Ms. Bond's original oil on canvas works will be sold by Baterbys.

Not many artists are deft and talented enough to be accomplished sculptors and painters, but Wayne Trapp is just such an artist. The North Carolina native has worked in stone and steel for years, creating lavish outdoor pieces for corporate clients and smaller, more intimate pieces for private clientele. The painter emerged from the stone cutter as another form of expression.

Five original ink-on-paper drawings by Mr. Trapp will be sold, all signed.

Attendees at both auctions will have the opportunity to win free works of art and other giveaways, in spontaneous raffles held throughout the day. Also, everyone will receive a free print, valued at $100, just for attending. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Cuba Libre Restaurant in Orlando.

The auctions will begin promptly at 6 p.m. (EDT) at both venues, with previews from 5-6 p.m. Online bidding will be facilitated by LiveAuctioneers.com and iCollector.com. Phone and absentee bids will also be accepted. The Palm Beach gallery is located at 13900 South Jog Road in Delray Beach; the Orlando gallery is located at 9101 International Drive (Unit 1008), Orlando.

Baterbys offers its clients something unique in the industry: a lifetime money-back guarantee of authenticity for each work of art it sells and a lifetime exchange policy for each work of art it sells. This is important to art collectors, since provenance is everything. Baterbys believes that gaining a buyer's trust is key to ensuring that they will become repeat customers.

How Do I Safely Achieve a Whiter Smile?

2010-08-19
Remember Ross Geller from "Friends" and his glow in-the-dark teeth? Everyone at some point feels the pressure to have pearly whites, but sometimes it can be taken too far. Excessive teeth whitening can lead to dental decay and cavities due to the enamel break down. Consider enamel to be a tooth's safeguard. It protects from cavities and helps to maintain healthy teeth. When that barrier gets broken the teeth become more susceptible to problems. Some over-the-counter products are not as good as others and can speed up this process. When choosing a product, ask your dentist ...
