GRAND RAPIDS, MI, July 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) SecurAlarm Systems Inc. has been awarded the 2012 "Excellence in Construction" Award in the Low Voltage Category for their work at Heart of the City Health Center.

The Heart of the City Health Center was the culmination of years of planning on the part of Cherry Street Health Services, Touchstone Innovare, and Proaction Behavioral Health Alliance. The facility provides an environment for continuity of care by addressing access and integration of mind/body care for the low-income population. From a security perspective the facility also provided an opportunity for the combined organization to evaluate their approach to providing security to their patrons and their employees; and to select a solution provider with consulting and design expertise and a technology platform to provide a foundation for consolidating services at their other facilities. The security management system addresses the unique requirements of a parking structure and an office building with public spaces and private suites. The security management system controls 70 access points integrated with 50 network cameras on a single software platform. The system is hosted in a virtual server environment located off-site and supported by the client's data center service provider. The following services are housed in the facility and their unique security requirements are addressed by the system: Medical Exam Rooms, Dental Care Suites, Mental Health Consultation and Treatment Room, Vision Care Services, X-ray Facilities, Laboratory Services, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Services, Pharmacy, and a shared Electronic Medical Records system.
