The Discovery of the Most Ancient Wooden Boat in Egypt

Doctor Mohamed Ibrahim, the Egyptian Minster of Antiquities Affairs, has declared that the oldest wooden boat that dates back to the reign of King Den of the 1st dynasty was discovered to the north of the Mastaba number 6 in the area of Abu Rawash.

NORTH HALEDON, NJ, August 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) Doctor Mohamed Ibrahim, the Egyptian Minster of Antiquities Affairs, has declared that the oldest wooden boat that dates back to the reign of King Den of the 1st dynasty was discovered to the north of the Mastaba number 6 in the area of Abu Rawash.

Ibrahim added that the wooden boat that was discovered was in a good state.

He also noted that during the excavations work of the French Institution of Eastern Antiquities in Abu Rawash, the remains of an old wooden boat was discovered.

There were 11 blocks of wood, six meters long and one meter and a half wide were unearthed.

The Egyptian Minster said that a team of consultants and antiquities specialists was formed to carry out the restoration works needed for the wooden parts of the boat.

Afterwards, the pieces of the wooden boat were transferred to the laboratory of the Grand Egyptian Museum to do the rest of the restoration and renovation works needed.

Doctor Al Hussein Abdel Baseir, the general supervisor of the project of the Grand Egyptian Museum asserted that the boat discovered was a funerary boat that was buried beside the dead to be used in the other world.

Al Alamein War Museum in Alamein is getting prepared to welcome a British military aircraft that fell in the Western Desert of Egypt in 1942.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism will supervise the process of the transfer of the aircraft to the Al Alamein War Museum located in the Northern Coast of Egypt.

Doctor Magdi Selim, the head of the internal tourism in the Egyptian Tourism Authority, said that the transfer process of this aircraft that was discovered in the Western Desert of Egypt will be recorded to be broadcasted to the whole world to promote for tourism in Egypt.

Selim added that the aircraft will be put in the Al Alamein War Museum to be displayed in the proper way to attract more tourists to visit the museum.

Selim noted that such discovery will promote tourism in the area of the Western Desert in Egypt especially in the Bahariya, Farafra, Dakhla, Kharga Oases and Marsa Matruoh.

The British aircraft was actually discovered by a group of Egyptians and tourists in the Western Desert in the beginning of this year, 2012.

242 million Egyptian Pounds expected to be the profit of the Egyptian Tourism Authority

The budget of the Egyptian Tourism Authority in the new fiscal year was estimated to be 894 million Egyptian pounds.

Moreover, the expected revenue of the Authority is estimated to be 326 million Egyptian pounds with around 242 million pounds as expected net profit.

The Major General, Tarek Saad El Dine, the director of the Executive Body of the Egyptian Tourism Authority stated that the development of the performance of the authority will enhance the level of services provided for investors, Egyptians and foreigners and offer them with a proper atmosphere for tourism investment in the country.

The New Egyptian Prime Minster: the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities might be joined together

The new Egyptian Prime Minster, Hesham Qandil, stated that there is a suggestion to join the two ministries of Tourism and Antiquities in one ministry in order to promote more historical sites for tourists who visit Egypt.

Qandil added that he will finish electing the new government very soon and that he will maybe establish a new Egyptian ministry for investment.

Luxor will be hosting the "Magical Flute" Opera Show

The two Egyptian ministries of Tourism and Antiquities, with the cooperation of the governorate of Luxor, will be organizing a press conference in front of the Luxor Temple to announce that the city will be hosting the "Magical Flute" opera show that is expected to be attended by 10,000 tourists.

The Egyptian Minster of Antiquities, Doctor Mohamed Ibrahim, stated that this event will surly promote tourism in uxor and that the Ministry of Antiquities will be sponsoring this artistic event.

Ibrahim wished that the number of tourists visiting Egypt has started increasing lately with the conditions getting calmer and more stable in Egypt.

The Ministry of Tourism: the International Market is Monitoring the Conditions in Egypt

The Director of the Sector of International Tourism in the Egyptian Tourism Ministry, Mr. Samy Mahmoud, stated that the international markets that send tourists groups to Egypt are closely monitoring the conditions in Egypt in order to resume the tourism business in the country once again.

Mahmoud stated that the conditions were getting more stable in Egypt. However, with the decision of the Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi, that called for the Egyptian Parliament.

The Egyptian Tourism reports show positive feedbacks after Morsi Won the Presidential Elections

The Head of the International Tourism Sector the Tourism Authority in Egypt, Sami Mahmoud. Stated that the Authority has received official reports from 17 offices that report to the Authority from the international tourism market

Sami Mohamed added that after analyzing the data in theses reports, the feedback seemed relatively positive.

Sami noted that the massages that were included inn the speech of Morsi concerning the stance of the Egyptian authorities towards the tourism sector were met with positive feedbacks from the West. He added furthermore that the polls that were carried out in the offices of Germany, the United States, Italy, and Russia were quite optimistic.

The Head of the International Tourism Sector added that the celebrations that the Tahrir Square has witnessed made the media who specialize in tourism change the image they had towards the conditions in Egypt.

Sami has asserted that the image the West had towards the ruling of the Islamists has been changed. He also noted that the new government will have a great impact on the form and the shape of tourism in Egypt during the coming period of time adding that if a liberal Minster of Tourism comes in power, this will surly improve the conditions of tourism in Egypt.

Sami has also stated that the historical events that took place in the Tahrir Square made the tourists more eager to explore the square, which will be included to many travel packages to Egypt to enable the tourists to visit the Tahrir Square.
