HOLLYWOOD, FL, August 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) Larry Jacobs, President and CEO of EMSIG Manufacturing Corp. has been selected as an Executive Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Larry Jacob's commitment to excellence in Manufacturing.
For the past fifty-nine years, Larry Jacobs has made a career out of buttons for a fourth generation business that opened its doors in 1928. The company, which was founded by an Australian born immigrant family Emsig, began in New York City, where the business currently resides today.
President and CEO Jacobs has been overseeing the business for the past forty years in his current role, which has overseas facilities in Hong Kong, China, New Delhi, and Central American, producing approximately 400,000 gross weekly for manufacturers worldwide and military buttons used by the US Armed Services.
Something so small such as buttons, Jacobs said, are often overlooked as to the impact they have on our everyday lives, saying, "No one pays attention until they lose them or they break. There are more buttons in your house than nails in your walls."
Such a small, insignificant object with such a big impact on peoples everyday lives, these buttons have impacted EMSIG on such a large scale that the business has been thriving for nearly eighty-four years. The once small business has become a staple in the city of New York and in every household across the US and beyond.
Jacobs served as founder and first president of the American Manufacturing Button Association, is a current member of the American Apparel Association, is a board member of the Temple in Jericho, and is a past president for his local homeowners association.
