DARMSTADT, October 06, 2010 (Press-News.org) The need to comply with increasing regulatory pressure to set up controls to minimize risks in the IT environment drives SAP's global customers towards robust security solutions. As an important tool, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions are increasingly being deployed primarily to prove the effectiveness of existing controls. However, such solutions do not provide sufficient SAP connectivity. These tools are blind to vital data and processes in complex SAP environments. Typically, SIEM solutions have limited SAP connectivity and read log files only. Is there a solution to cover the SAP landscape?
SECUDE's Security Intelligence (SI)
SI provides an interface between the various sources of security and compliance relevant data within SAP systems and solutions that are used to monitor IT landscapes. It enables central security monitoring and analysis of SAP landscapes, a requirement that many SAP customers face due to increasing legal or regulatory pressure, or to fulfill their internal security policy. The system provides significantly more valuable information than other SIEM products alone. Beyond the security audit log, data from tables, change documents, other log files, and the system configuration can be accessed, thus, giving a complete picture of the security status and events in the SAP applications.
Also, SI integrates seamlessly with various ABAP-based SAP applications. As data consuming SIEM solutions, RSA enVision and ArcSight ESM are supported out of the box. Support for other SIEM or Business Intelligence solutions can also be provided.
Benefits:
• Enables complete and deep SAP connectivity for SIEM solutions, enabling access to important SAP data
• Offers standardized and efficient interfaces for extracting data and for forwarding refined security information to SIEM solutions
• Provides mechanisms to subscribe to particular security relevant events (customer-defined filters and views)
• Easily deployable and configurable - automatic detection of system landscape
• Based on SECUDE's extensive experience in the SAP security space
SI is the only solution in the market enabling deep, real-time security monitoring of complex SAP landscapes, leveraging SECUDE's extensive experience in the SAP security area.
Supported Platforms: Security Intelligence requires a NetWeaver ABAP 7.0 SR3 system. It can then monitor all ABAP-based SAP systems from 4.6C onwards.
