LONG BEACH,, CA, August 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) Who are the fittest celebs in Hollywood? In a survey conducted among more than 100 top LA trainers/instructors, most of whom are on staff of the tony, celebrity-filled Spectrum Athletic Clubs, the results are in and on the list are some surprises among the usual suspects. Unlike other top 10 lists that simply identify "hot bods," which could be the result of Mother Nature, steroid use or unhealthy diets, this list was conducted among certified professionals who have the knowledge base and experience to evaluate one's overall fitness quotient. The voting was based on published details of the celeb's lifestyle, workout regimens and overall appearance results.
TOP 5 FITTEST MALE CELEBS- Joe Manganiello, Mark Wahlberg, Matthew Morrison, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Zac Efron.
TOP 5 FITTEST FEMALE CELEBS- Kelly Ripa, Lady Gaga, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, and Emma Stone.
"Among the top 5 men are Gyllenhaal, who is an avid barefoot runner and loves cooking with fresh vegetables he grows in his own garden, and Wahlberg, who stays in shape lifting weights, boxing and engaging in other exercise at his own home gym and is so into eating right that came up with his own brand of protein supplement called Marked," said Matty Whitmore, a former "Survivor" finalist who trains a number of celebs out of Spectrum's Pacific Palisades club.
Manganiello, of "True Blood" fame combines a high protein diet with a workout regimen consisting of light weights/high reps combined with high intensity cardio while "Glee's" Matthew Morrison cycles 100 miles each week and runs 25, said Spectrum's Aaron Perez, who revealed that Zac Efron's "Big 3" workout (deadlifts, squats, bench presses) have helped him pack on mass and combined with his high-protein diet have transform him into a leading man.
According to Spectrum's, Jessica Ronick, the top 5 women all have their own preferred exercise routines -- Kelly Ripa loves cardio ballet and power yoga; Lady Gaga is obsessed with "soul cycle"; Cameron Diaz surfs, skis, snowboards and runs; Aniston shakes up the mix with spinning, running, the elliptical, Pilates and yoga; and Emma Stone, also a fan of Pilates, is into rock climbing and walking to get her blood flowing.
