Graphite Design's Tour AD Shafts Were Played by The Winner of The LPGA Canadian Open

According to Tak Yamada, President, Graphite Design, "We congratulate this young player on her outstanding victory as an amateur in an LPGA event and we wish her continued success throughout her career."

2012-08-30
SAN DIEGO, CA, August 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) Graphite Design, maker of some of the most widely played premium golf shafts on the PGA TOUR, announced today that the winner of the LPGA Canadian Open at Coquitlam, British Columbia, played Graphite Design Tour AD shafts. A total of 9 of the top 10 finishers played Graphite Design shafts.

According to Tak Yamada, President, Graphite Design, "It was exciting to watch history being made at the Canadian Open. We congratulate this young player on her outstanding victory as an amateur in an LPGA event and we wish her continued success throughout her career."

The winner became the youngest winner in LPGA Tour history at the age of 15. She posted a 5-under-par 67 in the final round to finish the tournament at 13-under-par 275, three shots better than the runner-up. She played a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 5 shaft in her driver and the new Tour AD BB 5 shafts in her three-wood and five-wood. Eight of the other top 10 finishers also played a variety of Graphite Design Tour AD shafts in their drivers and fairway woods.

The new Graphite Design Tour AD BB shaft was designed with the appropriate amount of flexibility in the butt section to allow the player to load the shaft properly. This creates a one-piece feel during the swing, giving the player a sense of power and load. With proper load throughout the impact, it eliminates any loss of swing speed and creates a penetrating trajectory. In developing this high performance shaft, the company increased stiffness in the tip-to-middle section which supports the shaft playability, making it more stable and improving workability and shot dispersion for increased accuracy.

Designed to provide more power and stability, the Tour AD DI shaft, manufactured exclusively at Graphite Design Japan, has been integrated with Toray Company's Nanomaterial technology in the tip section of the shaft. This unique tip technology creates optimal launch and spin conditions to produce increased accuracy and distance. Tour players have been impressed by the fact that when using the Tour AD DI shaft they can increase ball speed and accuracy without giving up distance.

The mid bend profile of the Tour AD DI allows the player to load the shaft properly, yet maintains a firm enough tip section through impact, producing optimal spin and launch conditions. Golfers using the shaft will experience the feel of the ball leaving the club head with a lot of speed while maintaining exceptional feel and control.

Graphite Design's Tour AD logo is featured on all of the company's Tour-proven shafts to specifically promote "Accuracy and Distance" and has long been known for high quality and superior performance. This is represented by the company's success that has been documented by professionals and amateurs alike. Graphite Design is the most dominant shaft on the JGTO Tour and has been for the past nine years.

Graphite Design International manufactures the highest quality shafts in the world for Pure Distance and Perfect Accuracy. Graphite Design shafts can be seen in play by the best professional players on the PGA, Nationwide, Champions, Japan, European and LPGA tours. Graphite Design shafts reinforced its dominance on the Japan Tour, where it has claimed 163 consecutive graphite wood shaft brand counts -- an unprecedented streak which dates to 2003. On the PGA Tour, Graphite Design shafts have helped professionals earn 83 victories since 2004 and millions of dollars in prize money. A total of 60 US distributors and 16 European and Asian distributors supply Graphite Design shafts to custom club fitters around the world.
