BOULDER, CO, September 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) AlsoEnergy, a leader in renewable energy monitoring and portfolio management software, has appointed industry veteran Jim Harre as Director of Sales.
AlsoEnergy recently surpassed the 800MegaWatts milestone of monitored electric power, spread across more than 2,000 sites worldwide. AlsoEnergy continues to expand the functionality of their offering, adding increasingly more sophisticated functions including O&M (Operations and Maintenance) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) roles.
"Monitoring more than 800MW at over 2,000 sites demonstrates AlsoEnergy's rapid progress and growing role in the worldwide solar power marketplace," said CEO Robert Schaefer. "As a rapidly growing company in the industry, the time has come to expand and enhance our management capabilities. We're very excited and feel fortunate to have an industry expert like Jim Harre join our executive team."
"The solar industry is maturing, and with panel and inverter efficiency gains diminishing, installers and developers are now focused on growing and managing their portfolios while driving optimum financial performance," said Harre. "The financial return is what matters most, with monitoring becoming mission critical to overall system performance."
AlsoEnergy's customers supervise, control and aggregate multiple sites, minimizing risk and maximizing performance. AlsoEnergy's products have evolved, allowing operators to optimize profitability and to find ways to extract additional returns from installations spread across wide geographic territories and using multiple technologies.
"That's where our software comes in; it is the critical component that will lead the next phase of solar power distribution. Monitoring technology holds the most promise of any industry segment - it can produce the greatest value for solar projects. AlsoEnergy has the technology, support, service, and vision making them unique in this space, and that's why I joined the company" said Harre.
Prior to his position at AlsoEnergy, Harre was the Sales Director for Delta Energy Systems where he established solar PV inverter sales agreements with multinational corporations and developed distribution channels in North America and Australia. At Delta, Harre played a vital role in growing the company, building off his deep technology, sales, and marketing background from previous senior management positions with Xantrex Techology, Inc., Lockheed and Raster Graphics, Inc.
