PORTLAND, OR, September 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) Employers seeking a high-quality, affordable solution for meeting the Direct Care Worker training requirements now have a new hybrid training option called CarePro. CarePro is a program of the Institute for Professional Care Education (IPCed - previously known through its aQuire Training Solutions division) that offers providers flexible compliance training programs, all AHCCCS approved for Arizona caregiver training.
CarePro's Direct Care Worker training program consists of a hybrid of learner-led online courses plus instructor-led skills training and testing, preparing the direct care worker for excellence in care. A state-wide network of Skills Training Partners will make this hybrid program available to individuals throughout Arizona.
"Providers have the option of providing the skills training and testing in-house, an option that makes CarePro extremely affordable," notes Brett Brokaw, Arizona CarePro program coordinator. "Employers can also select the payment program that works best for them - either by the student or one flat monthly fee covering an unlimited number of trainees."
The Direct Care Worker new training requirement applies to workers who provide direct care services to individuals within the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS). It becomes effective October 1, 2012, requiring a higher standard of training and testing for these workers. All training programs must be approved by AHCCCS, Arizona's Medicaid Agency. IPCed's CarePro program was approved by AHCCCS to provide worker training and testing in mid August, 2012, in preparation for this coming requirement. It offers Level 1 training plus specialty Level 2 courses in Aging and Physical Disabilities as well as Developmental Disabilities.
"With CarePro, a student has unlimited flexibility for completing the required training. The student controls the time, place and the pace of learning - a great advantage for working professionals," notes Brokaw. CarePro also gives management the ability to assign the online courses with due dates and track each individual caregiver's progress in the training. CarePro offers all of the training online that is typically delivered in a classroom setting, combined with a skills training and testing component that exceeds the required minimum.
"When caregivers go into the homes of seniors and disabled individuals it's vital that they are prepared, competent and well-trained," says Brokaw. "The CarePro program is designed to exceed minimum training requirements so that workers are prepared to deliver high quality, excellent care."
IPCed launched CarePro in Washington State earlier this year to meet new Home Care Aide training requirements implemented in July. Washington CarePro has been approved by DSHS , and blends online with instructor-led skills training throughout the state. Additional state-specific CarePro programs are planned throughout the country in the coming months.
For more information about CarePro, visit the website, http://www.ipced.com/carepro or contact Brett Brokaw directly at 971-373-4504.
