Catering Works Wins Dessert Category in US Foods Next Top Product Competition

RALEIGH, NC, September 14, 2012

We are proud to announce that the Owner of Catering Works, Jill Santa Lucia, is the Winner of the Dessert category in the US Foods Next Top Product competition.

Jill is thrilled to represent North Carolina as one of the Three Finalist's in this nationwide competition.

Mini Bak Cheesecake Takes the Cake!

Through a competition on US Food Group's Facebook Page, Santa Lucia was the top vote getter in the Dessert category. Thanks to the outpouring of support from friends, family, enthused clients and the North Carolina community, Jill has the chance to vie for the Grand Prize .

Jill's winning creation, the Mini Bak Cheesecake, was crafted as a healthy alternative to traditional cheesecake. A modern twist, the recipe includes the increasingly popular Greek yogurt, which has become a staple in the modern kitchen. Served in mini jam jars, the treat incorporates popular DIY trends showcased by industry leaders such as Martha Stewart Magazine and Simple Living.

The Final Three

The chefs with the most votes in each category: Appetizer, Entree and Dessert, will be flown to Chicago for a competition at the Food Lovers Forum on September 18-20th. There, US Foods will select the dish that will be made commercially available nationwide beginning in mid-2013.

If the winner, Santa Lucia plans to use the funds towards Catering Work's new headquarters in Raleigh. Jill is passionate about her roots in the area and wants to put Raleigh on the map as an innovative, gourmet, food-loving city.

Santa Lucia greatly appreciates everyone for their support and looks forward to her trip to Chicago to make a great name for Raleigh and North Carolina!
