SCHAUMBURG, IL, September 14, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Rabine Group Foundation holds a family event every year at a retirement home. This is the second year that the event was held at the Friendship Village in Schaumburg, IL. Friendship Village is a continuing care retirement community with a range of living options, including independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care.
The event was on September 9th. The Rabine Group Foundation had more than fifteen people volunteer to help out at the event. A petting zoo, snacks, drinks and an inflatable bounce were brought to Friendship Village to entertain the residents and their families. The petting zoo included lamas, sheep, ducks, chickens, goats, a zebu and a rabbit.
Part of the Rabine Group Foundation's mission is to enrich the lives of the elderly. This event is done yearly because it is a fun way for the Rabine Group and their families to be involved in the Foundation while making a difference in the lives of senior citizens.
One resident of Friendship Village who was at the event said, "I haven't been out of my room in three months. This is like a welcome back to life party!"
