TORONTO, ON, September 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Truck Stacker automation is designed to drop sheets directly onto a flat bed truck and prevent damage due to manual handling and or handling packs with forklift trucks and similar material handing devices. The most significant gain of installing the new style stacker was a significant productivity improvement and labor reduction easily justifying the cost of the investment. This new product was key in enabling a lean manufacturing method to streamline and achieve one-piece-flow manufacturing ensuring proper inventory control and on time shipment.
"We worked with our customers to find ways in maximizing our material handling capabilities and to improve throughput and reduce material handling scrap.," says Mark Volkmann, Metform President. "Some of the other challenges we faced were assessing how to work in confined areas where manufacturing space is limited. With this in mind, a compact sheet pusher and stacker head design were key to the success of this unit."

Florida Drivers Get Hundreds of Thousands of Speeding Tickets
2012-09-25
Is there something about Florida that the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) issued 317,936 speeding citations in 2010? According to FHP statistics, that number was a little less than the number in 2009 (which was 321,777). And this doesn't count the number of speeding tickets handed out by other police agencies in Florida.
Naturally, a two-year average of more than 300,000 tickets just for speeding makes one wonder whether Florida drivers simply have more of a need for speed than drivers in other states.
But is that true? How do other places stack up? And is it truly a ...
