Dade Medical College Expands Nursing Program

MIAMI, FL, August 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) With an increase in the need for quality health-care professionals, Dade Medical College has taken the steps to expand their Nursing program with the opening of their new School of Nursing facility. With the school's construction now complete and students sitting in brand-new classes and labs, Dade Medical College made it official with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new facility today.

On hand to help with the honors were Dade Medical CEO Ernesto Perez along with a host of local dignitaries including Miami Mayor The Honorable Tomas Regalado.

"Nurses are the backbone of the healthcare industry. Without them, there would be no way to meet the healthcare needs of our communities," stated Perez. "Our new state of the art facility will allow us to train and graduate much needed Nurses to meet the growing demand for these frontline heroes in the field of healthcare" he went on to state.

Dade Medical College's Nursing program provides those enrolled with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to function effectively as a professional nurse; to effect positive changes in the healthcare and functioning of their future patients as well as to prepare them to pass the licensing examination (NCLEX) administered by the Florida Board of Nursing.

The new School of Nursing facility is located at 901 NW 39th Ave in the City of Miami Florida.

Founded in 1999, the school currently has four campuses. The main campus is located at 3721-1 NW 7th Street, Miami, FL 33126. The Hialeah Campus (built in 2007) is located at 2750 W 68th Street, Suite 202, Hialeah, FL 33016. The Homestead Campus (2009) is located at 381 N Krome Ave, Homestead, FL 33030 and a brand new Hollywood Campus is now housed at 6837 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024. Corporate offices are located in central Miami - 3401 NW 7th Street, Miami FL 33125.

Dade Medical College's programs of study include: the recently added Bridge Program in Nursing, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, General Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Management, Massage Therapy, Medical Assistant, the new Medical Billing and Coding program, Nursing and Practical Nursing.

Dade Medical College is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (Miami Campus) and is licensed by the Florida Commission for Independent Education (#2262). Dade Medical College has also been approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, the Florida Board of Massage and is a member of the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges.
