CAI Announces November Seminars And Development Programs In Greensboro

Local HR Management Firm Offers Training For Business Professionals

GREENSBORO, NC, October 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, announced the company's November 2012 schedule of training and development seminars. -"Tell It Like It Is: How Communication Can Help Improve Perceived Value and Control Your Healthcare Costs" is a three-hour interactive session focused on teaching attendees how to gauge employee opinions on benefits and build a communications strategy around that information. Attendees will learn about the latest benefit communication tools and determine which methods are best for their message and employees. Presentations will be led by Joanne Forbes, FLMI, MBA, from Hill, Chesson & Woody Employee Benefit Services. The program will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. -"Newly Appointed Supervisor Certification Program" is a two-day program that will help first-time supervisors and managers establish a strong foundation for success. The program will begin with a self assessment to identify strengths and important areas for growth to ensure a smooth and effective transition. Course participants will discuss basic supervisory skill building, strategies for building trust, communicating effectively, motivating and recognizing employees, delegating and managing conflict. Each attendee will develop action plans to better transfer lessons and skills back to their individual roles. -"2012 Triad Employment Law Update" is a full-day course that provides participants with updates on state and federal employment laws and issues, including: wage and hour laws; health care reform; the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA); the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); immigration; the National Labor Relations Act (NLRB); and the Equal Employee Opportunity Commission (EEOC) investigations. Experienced and knowledgeable attorneys from Constangy, Brooks and Smith, LLP will lead the discussion. The course will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Joseph F. -"Customer Service Excellence Certification Program" is a highly interactive two-day certification program. Participants will discover how to maximize customer service skills with tools to improve overall customer and business relationships. -"Forklift Operator: Train the Trainer" is a full-day course that will give participants the needed formal training for serving as a designated forklift trainer. During the course, which is based on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Revised Standard for Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training, participants will review the formal, or classroom, section of the required forklift training to learn how to become an effective instructor. -"Team Leader Certification Program" is a two-day certification program that will prepare team leaders to perform at a higher level. This program trains participants on leadership skills, communication, goal setting, time management and motivation. During the program, attendees will participate in group discussions, exercises, role-play, and action planning, all of which will help to develop the needed skills for succeeding as a team leader. -"Improving Your Basic Business Writing Skills" is an all-day program that covers the basics of effective business writing. David Covington, Ph.D., a business and technical writing professor at NC State University, will lead the program, which will provide attendees with no-nonsense discussions about the rules that should be followed in business writing. -"Ask the Expert- Elements of an Effective Safety Program" is a free interactive program for CAI members only.
