Doctors In Training Announces New, Innovative Online Course in Anatomy

Doctors In Training, a leading provider of online medical education, announces the debut of its Solid Anatomy Series. This course continues the development of the Solid Series which also include Pharmacology, Internal Medicine and OB/GYN.

FORT WORTH, TX, November 01, 2012

The Solid Anatomy Series was designed for medical students, but is also beneficial for nurse practitioner students, physician assistant students, dental students, podiatry students, kinesiology, biology or other health science majors, physical therapists, chiropractors, radiology technicians, and medical sales representatives. There are 28 subject-specific videos available now, with additional videos to be released soon.

Each video includes stunning illustrations taken from the Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Atlas of Anatomy to clearly highlight key anatomical structures. The videos provide clear explanations of the anatomical structures and their functions, and also use active learning methods such as End of Session Quizzes to emphasize key points. The videos also include Clinical Correlations, which help tie the anatomical information to the diseases and procedures seen in everyday medical practice. Each video comes with a PDF study guide with additional information, questions, and diagrams.

The course is taught by Professor John Phelan PhD, along with clinical correlations by DIT Educators Mike McInnis MD and Chris Lewis MD, who combine to bring years of clinical and educational experience to the presentation of the material.
"Dr Phelan is a well-respected lecturer with years of experience in teaching this material at a nationally-recognized medical school," said Dr McInnis. "He is somewhat legendary among his students, and they have selected him to receive several teaching awards over the years. We're thrilled to introduce him to a much wider audience of students across the country and around the world."

In addition to being viewable on most personal computers, Solid Anatomy supports a number of mobile viewing options, including iPhone, iPad, and Android mobile devices. The course can be purchased as a whole, or as individual videos purchased separately, making Solid Anatomy consumption flexible and an excellent complement to traditional anatomy curriculum.
