SEMINYAK, INDONESIA, October 14, 2010 (Press-News.org) Arts enthusiasts should be sure to include a trip to the Ganesha Gallery during their stay in Bali over the coming weeks.
South Sumatran artist Heriawan Siauw is exhibiting his latest range of paintings at the Denpasar art space, with the display given the title "Melodies in Blue".
It opened to the public for the first time on October 7th 2010 and tourists staying in Seminyak hotels will have one final chance to explore the array of works on show on November 1st.
The Arts Indonesia website has noted that this is the second time Siauw has had his pieces showcased at the Ganesha Gallery, with his current pictures described by the organisation as "abstract studies of pure emotion".
"His moody and thought-provoking paintings are the visual equivalent of the soulful jazz music played afterhours in the smoky jazz cafes," they remarked.
Although the colour blue is often used to represent melancholy, Siauw has used the occasional splash of a brighter shade to portray joy and optimism.
Travellers keen to check out the artist's efforts can view the display between 09:00 and 18:00 local time, with the gallery located in Jimbaran Bay.
The works of a different local or international artist are exhibited at the facility every month.
For more information on this event, visit the Arts Indonesia website or contact the venue on (+62) 361 701 010.
