HOUSTON, TX, November 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) America's number one Christmas movie has come to The Pearl Theater. A Christmas Story, is opening December 6, 2012 and running through December 16, 2012 at the Pearl Theater, located at 14803 Park Almeda, Houston TX 77047.
This Christmas treasure is based on the movie, A Christmas Story. It follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker, growing up in 1940's Indiana, in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself, receiving the same answer every time: "You'll shoot your eye out!" All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamp post; Ralphie's father winning a lamp shaped like a woman's leg in a net stocking; and more.
The show is directed by Kayleen Clements, and the cast includes many talented actors new to Pearland Theatre Guild along with some returning favorites: Jeff Blackman is "Ralph", Angi Fox is "Mother", Knox Potter is "Randy", Julian Carter is "Ralphie", Brandon del Castillo is "The Old Man", Robyn LeGris is "Miss Shields, and Mrs. Schwartz", Reagan Potter is "Helen", Jacob Blackman is "Schwartz", Andrew Sackett is "Flick", Duke Bartholomae is "Farkas", Erin McSpadden is "Esther Jane" and Adrian Carter is Desperado Two"
Performance times are Thursday's at 7:30 PM, Friday and Saturday night at 8:00 PM and a Saturday and Sunday Matinees at 3:00 PM.
This year Pearland Theatre Guild has designated the Saturday, December 8, 2012 performance as a Sensory Friendly Show for families affected by Autism.
