BROOKLYN, NY, October 14, 2010 (Press-News.org) Between them, Deborah and Melanie have more than 35 years of experience in publishing and have written, edited, or developed more than 100 books, 15 of which are commercially published titles under their own names. Their new website, http://www.BestGhostwritersForHire.com, outlines their services and will periodically provide site visitors with writing and publishing industry tips.
"When we write our own books, it's a solitary endeavor," Melanie said today. "As a ghostwriter, editor, book doctor, or consultant, we're able to collaborate with others and share ideas."
"I especially love helping others make their dream a reality," Deborah added. "Many people who come to us have wanted to write a book for years. We can make it happen for them."
Melanie is the author of seven books of her own, including Hummingbirds: Jewels on Air (which also contains eight of her photographs), The Cocktail Kit (which sold more than 100,000 copies), and 52 Weeks of Passionate Sex (which sold out its first printing within a week of release.) She has ghostwritten and edited numerous books, some of which have won awards. Melanie edited Brenda Bence's book, How YOU Are Like Shampoo for Job Seekers: The Proven Personal Branding System to Help You Succeed in Any Interview and Secure the Job of Your Dreams, which won the 2009 Best Beach Books Festival Grand Prize, and she edited Debra Fine's The Fine Art of the Big Talk, which was published by Hyperion. She has also published fiction and poetry.
Deborah was a Senior Editor at Running Press Book Publishers, where she served on the acquisitions team and learned how publishers determine which manuscripts to buy. She helped develop a wide range of books, including some with celebrity authors such as Stephen Hawking, James Watson, and Bill Cosby. As a Health Books Editor at Rodale Press, she was a staff writer on The Doctor's Book of Home Remedies, a title that sold an unprecedented 13 million copies. She was also lead writer on Positive Living and Health, which sold 200,000 copies. She has published eight books of her own, including Instant Meditations and Sex on the Beach, and has ghostwritten or developed numerous books as a freelance consultant. One recent book she helped develop, Retirement Breakthrough, was named the best new business book in Denver.
Melanie and Deborah have experience writing on diverse subjects, including popular business, medicine, alternative health, sexuality, finance, psychology, education, spirituality, nature, and lifestyle. Both Melanie and Deborah are magna cum laude college graduates, Melanie in English and Deborah in Journalism. The duo also provides copywriting and speech writing services, as well as advice about traditional publishing versus self-publishing. "At times, we help authors shape and package their concept so that it's marketable," Melanie said, "and provide project management for the book from the very beginning to the final printing process."
