WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA, November 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) of successful service, via video messages featured on the Foundation's new website. The re-vamped site launched November 1st at http://www.dorisdayanimalfoundation.org.
The video compilation (link below) features rare shout-outs from celebrity animal lovers young and old, including: Betty White, Olivia Newton-John, Tony Bennett, Carrie Ann Inaba, Allison Janney, Robert Wagner, Michael Vartan, Peter Marshall, Fran Drescher, Carol Kane, Dick Van Dyke, Ken Howard, Steve-O, Mitzi Gaynor, Kym Johnson, Brian May, Anne Marie Lucas, Geraldo Rivera, Tippi Hedren, Debra Wilson, Fred Willard, Rod McKuen, Michael Feinstein, Rachel Miner, Mary Wilson, and Victoria Stillwell. Many of these celebrities chose to feature their own pets in the video, providing for an emotional calling from all corners of Hollywood.
"I can't believe it has been 35 years since Doris did my show, 'The Pet Set' back when she first got involved through Actors and Others for Animals in the early '70s," says White. Robert Wagner commented, "The work that you do is incredible, and I know that you have given a lot of your time and a lot of your life to it." Tony Bennett receives a fond kiss from his own puppy 'Happy' in the video, cast members and judges from 'Dancing with the Stars' record a message from the set, and Drescher holds her pet 'Esther' while congratulating DDAF on 35 years with a "Keep on going!" in her signature voice.
Even though Doris Day herself has been distant from the public spotlight for almost 20 years, Day also delivers a special and heart-warming new message on the website, showing her recognizable charm and humor in order to thank everyone for their support and introduce them to the new features of the site.
"We are going to be sharing some great rescue stories that I am sure will brighten your day, as they do mine," says Day. "Working together we can do great things for the animals and that's what this is all about, isn't it?"
With the new website in place, one of DDAF's first orders of business is responding to the tragic event that recently struck the east coast, by offering assistance to animal shelters that are dealing with the consequences of Hurricane Sandy. Anyone wishing to get involved may contact DDAF at info@ddaf.org for support.
