NORCROSS, GA, November 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) Atlanta exterminators Team Pest USA know that virtually every child is exposed to head lice at some point in their school career. Day cares can be one of the easiest places to contract head lice as children often share blankets, mats and pests when they take their afternoon naps.
The problem for Atlanta pest control and home owners is defeating the lice when one child brings them home. Lice can spread to family pets, other family members and even the furniture, at least temporarily. While the lice won't stay on the sofa or bed for long, they don't mind using your furniture as a way to move from one yummy human host to the next.
When lice appear, parents are often cast in the role of pest control experts in Atlanta. From home remedies including smothering the lice in mayonnaise to over-the-counter pesticides, usually in the form of a shampoo, the key to stopping lice is to attack them quickly and make sure to get them all, including the nits or eggs.
Exposed bedding and stuffed toys should be washed in hot water. Hard surfaces should be cleaned with bleach or ammonia and even after using a shampoo to wash away the lice, parents should use a fine toothed comb to brush out children's hair and make sure to get every last louse.
"Every few years, we see a lice infestation that begins in our schools," said Brandon Pelfrey, owner."If parents learn that lice are present in their child's classroom, they should be proactive and watch diligently to make sure the lice don't come home from school with their children."

Atlanta Tree Trimming Service Yellow Ribbon Tree Experts Discusses Leaf Changes in Fall
2012-11-20
As we make the transition into autumn, Atlanta tree service Yellow Ribbon Tree Experts discusses the process in when leaves change color in the fall.
Autumn leaf change actually begins to take place in the veins, which will turn before you can see the transformation in the rest of the leaf. When the late days of summer begin to shorten and the air gets cooler, these veins start to slowly constrict, so that less and less fluid can travel in and out of the leaf. As this is going on, a thin layer of cells known as cork cells starts to build up at the base of the leaf. ...

We're in this together: A pathbreaking investigation into the evolution of cooperative behavior
2012-11-19
Humans are much more inclined to cooperate than are their closest evolutionary relatives. The prevailing wisdom about why this is true has long been focused on the idea of altruism: we go out of our way to do nice things for other people, sometimes even sacrificing personal success for the good of others. Modern theories of cooperative behavior suggest that acting selflessly in the moment provides a selective advantage to the altruist in the form of some kind of return benefit.
