FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, November 22, 2012 (Press-News.org) WHAT: MGM Grand Detroit's "Touching Communities, Touching Lives " will host its second annual online charitable event, "It's a Merry Merry $10,000 Monday," on Cyber Monday, November 26 from midnight to 11:59 p.m.
Throughout the day, five local nonprofits will vie for votes on the campaign's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MGMGrandDetroitTCTL). The top three organizations will win their share of the total $10,000 prize: $7,000 for first place, $2,000 for second and $1,000 for third.
MGM Grand Detroit is dedicated to strengthening the communities in which it operates and team members live. Through its "Touching Communities, Touching Lives " initiatives, MGM Grand Detroit supports more than 400 charitable events annually, focusing in the five community investment areas of education, youth development, community development, arts and diversity.
HOW IT WORKS: Beginning at midnight on Monday, November 26, voters can log onto the "MGM Grand Detroit Touching Communities, Touching Lives" Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MGMGrandDetroitTCTL) to vote for their favorite of the five organizations. Voting closes promptly at 11:59 p.m. that evening. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 28th on the "MGM Grand Detroit Touching Communities, Touching Lives " Facebook page.
