OKLAHOMA CITY, November 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) Many people want to help impoverished children, but often do not know where to turn to get started. Today, Oklahoma-based GETCHARITABLE introduces their new Android app that makes it easy to help feed hungry children by simply downloading and running the app on an Android phone.
GETCHARITABLE has partnered with Hunger Relief International, a nonprofit dedicated to alleviating the impact of hunger and malnutrition on the lives of children and their families. Through this collaboration, Hunger Relief International will be able to provide meals to children based on how many users are running the app.
Each day, a new sponsored image is downloaded on the background wallpaper of the phone. As long as the app is running on a users' phone, they are providing food to a hungry child because advertisers are donating the proceeds specifically to pay for meals.
"It only takes one download to change the world. We wanted to come up with a way for people to help others easily and quickly using their smartphone, a device which has become such an important part of our everyday lives," said Michael Isaacs, co-founder of GETCHARITABLE. "Often, people don't know where to donate to see concrete results.
GETCHARITABLE has created this easy and free app that people can use daily to fight hunger, just by using their phone."
Here's how it works:
•	Simply download the free app to your Android phone.
•	Share this app with family and friends to get the word out that they can help.
•	Once the app is running, proceeds to feed hungry children will be donated each day by advertisers.
