LOS ANGELES, CA, November 30, 2012 (Press-News.org) Summertime Entertainment, the multi-media company behind the 3D CG-animated feature "Dorothy of Oz," recently enticed select audiences in seven major cities with private screenings of the highly anticipated film that stars "Glee's" Lea Michele as Dorothy Gale, the indomitable heroine who returns to Oz.
Screenings in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas and Dallas were all well received. They were presented by Summertime Entertainment Producers Ryan Carroll and Executive Producers Greg Centineo.
"We're very proud to see our support translated to these images and songs we now see on the big screen," said one lucky invited guess, who attended the Chicago sneak peek. Another from New York, who has watched the movie progress over the years, said, "It's great to see that leap turned into a film with a positive message, which I know will bring reward to many. The music and message are excellent, and my kids are going to love this one!"
In September, "Dorothy of Oz" returned to the 31st Annual Wizard of Oz Festival in Chesterton, Ind., which attracts nearly 50,000 Oz fans to the small town each year. Many of them arrived as their favorite Oz characters. Ryan Carroll, the film's producer and co-founder of Summertime Entertainment along with his brother Roland Carroll, presented a VIP screening of 20 minutes of the film to those fortunate enough to snag tickets.
"It was exciting to see thousands of Oz fans in one place and experience the enthusiasm they had for our new characters, too," said Ryan Carroll. "I can envision how much everyone will love what we've worked so hard to create. And it's thrilling to know that now that we're near a finish production, Oz fans old and new will be able to see it soon!"
"Dorothy of Oz" is a 3D CG-animated feature produced by Summertime Entertainment. The film stars Lea Michele (Dorothy), Martin Short (the Jester), Jim Belushi (Lion), Dan Aykroyd (Scarecrow), Kelsey Grammer (Tin Man), Megan Hilty (China Princess), Hugh Dancy (Marshal Mallow), Oliver Platt (Wiser the Owl), Bernadette Peters (Glinda), and Patrick Stewart (Tugg). The film begins where one of the world's most popular and beloved fairy tales, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum, ends, and continues Dorothy's journey via the further adventure books written by Baum's great-grandson, Roger Stanton Baum.
