TA XBIEX, MALTA, December 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) Vegas Partner Lounge, the home to over 10 casinos, donated $18, 000 to charity this November. Their casinos organized a promotion in support of the Movember cause and encouraged players to get involved and make a difference. A percentage of the proceeds raised from the promotion would go to a notable charity to help in the fight against cancer and other terminal illnesses.
The Spot the Stache promotion ran for two weeks in November and players had to find the moustachioed character, Casimo in daily pop-up pictures. Not only did the lucky players reel in some big bonuses and rewards, but they were successful in raising a generous amount to be donated to Wits Hospice.
So why Hospice Wits? While Movember is usually a drive to raise funds for the men and women suffering from Cancer, Hospice Wits have dedicated their lives to helping people not only suffering from cancer but also other terminal illnesses like AIDS, neurological disorder, chronic disorders and other debilitating disease. South Africa is one of the top countries that is affected by the AIDS and HIV epidemic and so Vegas Partner Lounge decided to donate the proceeds to a facility based in Johannesburg so that the money could be used to help a whole variety of suffering individuals who need it most.
They have an In-Patient Unit in Houghton as well as Soweto, and they also provide home-based care, depending on the situation and needs of the patients. They have a centre for palliative learning, a creche for orphans of the deceased and sick, as well as a highly skilled set of staff that provide patient and family counselling. They are really doing some phenomenal work and are extremely grateful for the donation. Joy Ruwodo, the Marketing Manager for Hospice Wits commented, "We are thrilled and relieved because we know that your donation will go a long way in helping us to provide services to those in need."
+Austin Green, the spokesperson for Vegas Partner Lounge was beaming with the success of the promotion: "We are proud to have raised such an outstanding amount from the Spot the Stache promotion at our casinos! We donated $18, 000 to Hospice Wits and know that they are going to put it to good use. They have a big heart for those struggling from limiting illnesses and meet not only the physical needs of the patient but also the social, spiritual and emotional needs of others affected like family and friends. Thank you to all our player who participated for making this possible - you made a difference!"
