FREMONT, CA, October 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) Macrotron provides ultrasonic welding for solar inverter modules housed in Valox 3900 plastic. The solar inverter module is attached to the solar panel and must be sealed against the elements (sun, rain, wind and snow) and extreme temperatures. First the electronics are encapsulated in a potting compound and the initial seal of the circuits. Then the case is hermetically sealed using ultrasonic welders at Macrotron. All the fixturing is designed by Macrotron Engineers, including the ultrasonic horn and base fixture. These two fixtures must be precisely aligned to obtain an optimum weld.
Each module receives a serial number lasered on the plastic surface, which is a permanent etched marking. Then the manufacturer's name and part number is pad printed with rugged epoxy based ink. These markings easily identify the module for replacement or warranty claims.
